OTHERWORLD

is an award-winning contemporary jazz quartet.

Inspired by the traditions of jazz, classical, and world music, Otherworld blends these varied influences

into a unique sound that defies easy categorization,

featuring intricate, cinematic compositions and soaring improvisation.

Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the group released “Otherworld” in 2015, which won a Global Music Award in the top 10 best albums and was featured on national and international radio.

They released “The Realm”, their second album, in March, 2019, which also won a Global Music Award.

On March 29, 2024, Otherworld released

“Breathing Room”, their third album.

When the pandemic interrupted Otherworld’s live performance schedule, pianist Jeffrey Chappell and bassist Chris Taylor started writing music together on Zoom, meeting once weekly to create works that communicate love and healing in reaction to tragedy. “Breathing Room” is the result.
